The Regalia, the beloved royal ride of Prince Noctis in “Final Fantasy XV,” will soon be a playable car in “Forza Horizon 3.” The best part is that the vehicle will be a free addition to the fun open-world game. ( Xbox Wire )
A new car is coming soon to Forza Horizon 3, and for Final Fantasy XV fans, it will look very familiar.
Forza Horizon 3, a spin-off of the serious Forza Motorsport racing simulator franchise, is a fun open-world game with hundreds of vehicles to unlock and discover. The list of cars will grow by one on Aug. 1, as the Regalia will be added for free.
‘Final Fantasy XV’ Meets ‘Forza Horizon 3’
Final Fantasy XV gamers will remember the Regalia as the beloved royal ride of Prince Noctis and his crew. Riding around in the Regalia has likely created many fun memories for Final Fantasy XV players, and very soon the vehicle will make more of them in Forza Horizon 3.
Forza community manager Brian Ekberg, through a post on the official Xbox Wire, revealed that the Regalia will be coming to Forza Horizon 3 on Aug. 1.
The best part about the arrival of the unofficial fifth member of Prince Noctis’s party is that it will be free for players who have played Forza Horizon 3 on the Xbox One or Windows 10 and/or for those who will have played Final Fantasy XV on the Xbox One by Aug. 1.
All Forza Horizon 3 players will receive free access to the Regalia, which will be redeemable through the game’s messaging system. All Final Fantasy XV players, on the other hand, will receive a code through the Xbox Live’s messaging system that will unlock the Regalia in Forza Horizon 3.
In a separate announcement of the arrival of the Regalia in Forza Horizon 3, it was revealed that it took over 1,500 work hours to create Prince Noctis’s trusty vehicle for the open-world game, partly because there is no real-world reference for the vehicle.
In Forza Horizon 3, the Regalia will measure almost 21 feet long and 7 feet wide. It will be powered by a 7.2-liter supercharged V12 that is capable of pumping out 536 horsepower.
Is The Regalia Also Coming To ‘Forza Motorsport 7’?
Microsoft has another entry in the Forza franchise coming soon, Forza Motorsport 7. The Regalia could have potentially been added to that game, but the Forza Motorsport series mostly focuses on serious racing simulation with real-world cars, so the crossover with Final Fantasy XV better fits with the fun environment of Forza Horizon 3.
It is unclear if players will be able to acquire the Regalia as DLC in the future. Microsoft previously gave out the Halo Warthog vehicle for players who had played certain Halo titles, but it was also later offered through an in-game event.
